Étoiles is a client for FreeStars, the Stars! game clone. It is written in Java and needs a Java 6 (or greater). First version (0.1) contained only the technology browser. Current version (0.2) looks now more like the original Stars!, but it is not yet complete.
Launch Étoiles
You can already take a look at it, to get the feel. About 5.2 Mb need to be downloaded. This version is dated November 17th, 2008.
Launch Étoiles 0.2 via Java Web
Start: 
Java 6 is required.
There is no need to download additional files, as Étoiles is able to read rules files and game files from the Internet.
The software is configured to start with a default game. You can change this behaviour in the preferences. From there, you can also download the rules files to a local directory. This will improve performances.
